Dale Thurman Marshall, age 86 of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Southern TN Regional Health System. He was born October 19, 1935 in Franklin County to the late David Mead Marshall and Effie Mae Parker Marshall. Dale was a farmer who also ran a gas station. He enjoyed milking cows, fishing, listening to country music, watching westerns, being around kids and in his younger years working on cars and tractors. He loved being on the go in his later years looking at the scenery. He considered himself the Chairman of the Front Porch Committee. His family will remember him as a unique, wonderful, loving person and how he always said "I'm the best you ever saw!" In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jewel Metcalf Marshall; siblings, Rose Jewel Hixson, Earl Clayton Marshall, Forest Mead Marshall, Estella Mae Marshall and Donald Wayne Marshall. He is survived by two sons, Tim (Teresa) Marshall of Winchester and Greg (Christy) Marshall of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Brianna, Jessie, Timothy, Faith, Jason and Lora; step-grandchildren, Charlie and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Ari, Gavin, Emily, Nicholas, Elijah and Brooklyn; step-great-grandchildren, Hunter, Charlie, and David; great-great-grandchild, Rowan; sister, Jean (Billy) May; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will begin 11 am Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm in Moore-Cortner Chapel. Burial will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
