Dale Arthur Watson Sr., loving husband, caring father, and beloved uncle passed away on May 25th, 2023. He was surrounded by his family at home when he took his final breaths.
Dale was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1948 to Alvin Watson and Dorothy Hathaway. He served in the Navy after school. Veteran of his country and always proud of it.
After leaving the Navy, Dale dedicated his life to the automotive paint and body industry, becoming a master in his craft. He had a passion for antique cars and spent many hours restoring them to their former glory.
Dale was a man of few words but when he spoke, people listened because his words were meaningful and wise. Those who knew him best remember him as a loving husband to his wife of 54 years, Nancy Watson; a caring father to his daughters Sonya Jones, and Tonya Farris (husband John), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and the best uncle to many nieces and nephews. His memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We cannot forget Bobby, Brody, Cracken, Min Min and Dot Dot, his cats who will greatly miss their human dad but be comforted by knowing he is now at peace.
Unfortunately, one year ago tragedy struck as Dale lost his son Dale Watson Jr., which broke his heart completely. Dale is also preceded in death by his son, Michael Watson and his parents, Alvin and Dorothy Watson.
Dale will always be remembered for being an honest man with hard-working ethics who cared deeply for those around him. His dedication to family will forever live on through those he leaves behind including Daryl Watson and his wife Susan (brother), Sharon Watson (sister), several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Special thanks go out to Christina Paxton for her instrumental role in supporting this grieving family throughout the many challenging times. Thanks to her tireless efforts they were able to navigate through the difficulties that came along their way during this tough time. May we all learn from her example of love.
While Dale may no longer be with us in person, we know that his legacy will live on. He has left an indelible mark of love, hard work, and dedication on all those who knew him. Rest in peace, Dale Arthur Watson Sr., you will never be forgotten.
