Tony Watson Sr., age 75, of Wiley, Alabama passed away peacefully on January 17th at Hospice of West Alabama. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25th at Magnolia Chapel North and the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Terrell Jones and Bro. Rick Taylor officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Burial will be at Phillips Chapel Church Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents J.T. and Gladys Watson and his brother Ralph Watson.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda Watson; daughter, Tonya Waldrop (Mark); son, Tony Watson Jr. (Christi); grandchildren, Jarret Watson (Marla), Carsyn Waldrop, Maggie Waldrop and Carleigh Watson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tony loved to hunt, fish and play golf with all his "ole buddies". He was always looking forward to their next trip. He was the owner of Tuscaloosa Machine & Welding Inc. for 30 years and treasured the friendships he built with his customers and employees. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, the best papa to his grandchildren, a true friend and a great teller of stories.
Pallbearers will be Tim King, Ronnie Guy, Mike Falls, Bobby Swindle, Dr. Perry Lovely, Terry Long, John Foster and Barry Battle.
Honorary pallbearers are past and present employees and customers of Tuscaloosa Machine & Welding Inc., golfing buddies and employees of Northriver Yacht Club, James and Diane Jones, Paul DeLaire, Mike Bullock, and nurses and staff at Hospice of West Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Phillips Chapel Cemetery Association 19552 Mormon Road Northport, AL 35475
