Dale Withers, age 75 of the Floreffe area in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died on Thursday, September 11, 2025. He was born on June 24, 1950, one of four children of Blandon and Louise (Bonnell) Withers.
Dale worked as an Overhead Craneman for US Steel at the Clairton Works during the late 1960’s to the early 1980’s; he worked for the Laborers Union Local # 373 from the 1980’s to the early 2000’s and was a state Constable from the 2000’s until present. He also had a partnership (Marino Excavating) with his brother-in-law, Butch. He enjoyed hunting with his family and friends, and was a life member of the Elrama Sportsmen's Club.
Dale was a life member of Floreffe Volunteer Fire Company, since 1976, and held the office of trustee for many years. He was also a member of Jefferson Hills Fire Rescue (JHFR); and an honorary life member of Elrama Volunteer Fire Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Allan Withers. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda (Schran) Withers; their four children, Tina (Brian “Carp”) Kerlin, Connie (John) Baynham, Dale Jr. (Chrissy) Withers and Mandy (Jeramie “Peen”) Kozlowski; grandchildren, Zack (Kirsten), Matt (Emily), Ashley, Sammy, Ryan, Emily, Austin, Abby, Emma and Ethan; great grandchildren, Camden and Oaklynn; his brother, Don (Nanette) Withers and sister, Diane (Butch) Cantoni; sister-in-law, Rose Withers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 6 – 8 pm and on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 2 – 8 pm. Dale’s funeral service will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, gathering at 9:30 am for the 10:00 am service. Following the funeral service there will be a procession to Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery for his burial.
