Dale Wodzinski passed away the morning of January 6th, 2025, at his home in York, Pennsylvania.
Dale was born on February 10th, 1945, in the small town of Stambaugh, Michigan. After graduating high school, he followed his soon-to-be bride, Sherry Cirello, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They married and started to make a life for themselves. Sherry worked as a secretary for GE and helped Dale complete his degree in engineering at Marquette University. After graduation, they adopted their first son, Steven. Then, a welding materials manufacturer hired Dale as an engineer, and they moved to York, Pennsylvania. They started another adoption application but withdrew it when they were blessed with their second son, Mark.
Dale enjoyed his work and had an outstanding career in the welding materials business. He was a hard worker with a magnetic personality. Dale truly loved being around and working with others. He became a salesman and traveled the world selling welding materials and managing accounts. Eventually, he became the vice president of marketing and sales. He deeply cared for his staff and saw them as colleagues. Dale developed decades-long relationships with others in the industry that he and Sherry cherished.
Anyone who knew Dale knew he was a "family man". He taught the boys how to fish, hunt, and throw the football. He enrolled them in organized sports and was a fixture at their games, cheering for them and their teammates.
Dale had a few hobbies outside of the boys' sports. He enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, and his Packer's sports memorabilia. (Go, Pack Go!) He avidly pursued big game hunting throughout North America. He also loved to care for and maintain his yard. Some of his relatives were farmers and it was in his blood. He usually had the best-looking yard in the neighborhood. Others often said so when they passed by. Also, he took joy in helping others. If neighbors were out of town and it snowed, they could be sure their driveway was clear when they returned. Perhaps his favorite hobby was sitting on his screened-in porch surrounded by nature, reading the paper, and watching sports.
Upon retirement, he became involved with other activities. He served on church committees, organized events at the local gun club, and went with Sherry to the "Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field" to watch their beloved Packers.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sherry; his sons, Steven and his wife Patricia, Mark and his wife Kerri; and his two grandchildren, Logan and Ripley.
A visitation will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. They are located at 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, PA. Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 13th, 2025, at 10 am at St. Mary's Church located at 309 S. George St., York, PA.

Diane and I are so sad to learn of Dale's passing. I cherish our friendship and recall the fun times we had at Orioles and Redskins games, annual battles with the leaves in our yards and visiting local restaurants. Dale could always be counted on to answer questions about traveling in Scotland (although he would not drive on "the wrong side of the road") and local businesses. He was a truly nice man and will be missed by many in the neighborhood.
