Dallas Rogers Maggard, a beacon of kindness and a beloved matriarch, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2025, in
Paris, KY, surrounded by the love and warmth of her devoted family. Born on March 8, 1943, in Lexington, KY, she was the foundation of her family.
Growing up in the heart of Lexington, Dallas was the cherished daughter of Harvey and Marie Turner Rogers. She attended Henry Clay High School where she cultivated lifelong friendships and a commitment to excellence that would characterize both her personal and professional life.
Dallas will be deeply missed by her two adoring sons, Delza Boyd "Butch" (Tiffany Wolfe) Maggard and Robert (Nikki) Maggard. Her light will forever shine in the lives of her six grandchildren, Austin Cody Maggard, Jere Caroline Maggard, Aaron Delza (Alexis) Maggard, Jordy Allen, and Jamaal Washington, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. Dallas also leaves behind her beloved sister, Mary Walker; loving sisters-in-law Carrie (Diana Lucas) Maggard and Martha Sergent; and her respectful brother-in-law, Raymond (Jenny) Maggard. Her memory will be cherished by a legion of nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece, Charlotte Crane, all of whom felt her tremendous love and support.
Joining her husband, Delza Maggard, Jr., in eternal rest, Dallas was preceded in death by her dear parents, two sisters, Dorothy Crane and Verdia Rae Rogers; sisters-in-law Lelia Jennings and Deanna Combs; and her grandson, D'Shawn Washington.
In her professional life, Dallas served with precision and warmth as a retired bookkeeper. Her meticulous nature was matched only by her kind disposition.
An ardent supporter of the University of Kentucky Athletics, Dallas bled blue, celebrating both victories and mourning losses with the fervor of a true fan. Her interests extended to the simple pleasures of life, such as the delight of a good book, the warmth of gatherings around the dining table with family and friends, and her unwavering love for her grandchildren.
Dallas was the embodiment of kindness, friendliness, and thoughtfulness. Her smile could light up a room, and her generosity knew no bounds. She was a cherished friend, a confidante, and an advisor. Her legacy of love and dedication to her family will continue to guide and inspire them.
As we mark the passing of Dallas Rogers Maggard, we hold on to the abundance of beautiful moments and the lifetime of wisdom shared. She lived a life that was full, a life that was good, and a life that will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
