Damel K. Scott, born on April 11, 1974, in Seaford, Delaware, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Tidal Health Hospital. He was the son of the late James Scott and Ernestine Church.

Damel attended Pocomoke High School and worked at Tri State Tree and Rue Material over the years. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in providing for his family.

In 1999, Damel married his childhood sweetheart, Debbie Scott, in August. They were together for 25 years and married for 19 years.

Damel was a hard worker and loving father who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved listening to music, had a passion for rapping, and loved to tell jokes.

Damel leaves behind precious memories with his seven children: four girls- Vanity (Tyler) Kunie of Rochester, New Hampshire; Shamel Scott of Salisbury, Maryland; Taliya (Paris) Bratten of Salisbury, Maryland; and Renee' Scott of Princess Anne, Maryland; three boys- Damel (Amber) Scott of Texas Killen, Tevin Kyer of Salisbury, Maryland; and his baby boy, who became his best friend, Damir Scott of Salisbury, Maryland; and 13 grandchildren. Two brothers, James (Edna) Scott and Violitus Scott of Salisbury, Maryland; two sisters, Shonda Robinson of Salisbury, Maryland; and Tina Holder of Raleigh, North Carolina. Three aunts: Sharon (Craig) Collins of Salisbury, Maryland; Karen Church of Salisbury, Maryland; Teresa Butcher; and Uncle Pike of Rehoboth, Delaware. Two god brothers Keith and Rodney Hinmon, and god mother Gloria Hinmon , and his best friend, Mark Fletcher, and host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Scott and Ernestine Church; grandparents, Roland and Mary Church; his brother, Lamar Scott; and his uncle, Larry Church Sr.
