Damian Thomas "Tom" Pepe

Damian Thomas Pepe passed away on November 10, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He was born on September 24, 1938, to Marianne and Leonard Pepe in Brooklyn, NY. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Jeanette L Pepe and his granddaughter Lydia Rose Pepe. He is survived by his four children, Leonard Pepe (Donna), Damian Pepe (Kendra), Robert Pepe, Denise Bocker (Baron), fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His sister Marianne Giordano (Tony) and many nieces and nephews.
He graduated in 1956 from Brooklyn Technical high school and in 1961 from city college of New York with studies in physics, math and economics. He enlisted active duty in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and was in the reserves until 1998, retiring at the rank of Lt Colonel. He then worked for Prudential insurance company from 1966-2019 when he retired.
He moved with his family to Brooksville in 1979 and has been part of the community in many areas. He has been active in Kiwanis for more than 3 decades with perfect attendance and was often known as the pizza guy during high school football games and American Cancer Society relays. American Cancer Society was very important to him since he was a cancer survivor from 1988. He was active and volunteered in his church at St. Anthony the Abbott Catholic Church. He loved all of his friends in his community of Cloverleaf and enjoyed the dances and poker nights with the guys. His love of sports and bike riding were things he loved. He and our mom also loved to travel and visited many countries together. When asked what his greatest accomplishment was in life, he said "his family". He was a great example as a father, grandfather and person we all looked up to. He always wore a smile with the motto of "It is so pleasant to be kind".
Please join the family in Food & Fellowship following the graveside service on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 02:30 PM at Papa Joe's Italian Restaurant - 6244 Spring Lake Hwy., Brooksville, Florida 34601.
In lieu of flowers, Tom requested donations to be made to St. Jude Shriners Children Hospital.
