Daniel Charles Fahey, 61, of Strasburg, was welcomed in Heaven on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Daniel, also known as Danny, Dan, was born on December 4, 1964, to David C. Fahey and Shirley Patricia Fahey in Denver, Colorado. He was the youngest of 6 children.

He was known as little Danny as a child. His loving siblings helped to raise him in a very busy household – Kathy Velasco (Pete), David Fahey (Diane), Karen Yockey (Alan), Roxanne Linnebur and Patty Burris. There was so much love in this family, what a wonderful place to grow up.

Dan was a student at Byers School District beginning in the second grade. His passion, at a very young age, was sports. It didn’t matter which sport; he just wanted to play and be part of a team. In his youth, he wrestled, was in a bowling league, played basketball and baseball. Junior high and high school introduced him to football, basketball, baseball and track. Dan was a very well-rounded athlete. He graduated high school in 1983 and went on to attend Bethany College in Kansas to play football.

Dan and Cindy Meredith met when they were both in elementary school and began their love affair in his senior year of high school. They married on May 15, 1993. In each other, they found the love of their lives, “their person”. Shortly after their marriage, they knew it was time to start their family. Stabler Allen was born in April of 1994 and then came Tanner Daniel in October of 1995. For the next several years they had their hands full chasing after two rambunctious boys.

Dan began his real estate career in 1994. He learned from the best, his dad Dave Fahey who started F&C Realty Company in the late 70’s. They were working side by side for several years. Dan’s ownership started when Dave decided to retire. However, his greatest joy came when both of his sons, Stabler and Tanner, began working with him in recent years. Clients weren’t just clients; they became lifelong friends.

With his love of sports, he became a life-long coach of youth football, baseball, basketball, and track for nearly 25 years. Dan was very fortunate to be able to coach not only his own children, but literally hundreds of others. The kids that came into his life made a profound impact on Dan. You could easily find him in the bleachers surrounded by those that called him “Coach”.

Words of wisdom from Dan: “Surround yourself with those that make you a better person and you will become a better person”. To the many friends, please know, you were deeply loved by Dan.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Shirley Fahey, his sisters Kathy Velasco and Patty Burris, his niece Megan Linnebur and his nephew Nicholas Fahey.

A memorial service to celebrate Dan’s life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Mountain View Fellowship, 1955 Headlight Road, Strasburg, Colorado.

Dan’s zest for life, his wicked sense of humor and the ability to brighten every room he entered will be remembered by all who knew him.
