Edward "Ed" Alexander Spencer III passed on from this life on August 29, 2022. He was born on July 19, 1973.
Anyone who knew Ed also knows that he was a man who loved God, his family, and people in general. He spent decades in retail management as he helped his many employees to become their best, while serving literally thousands of satisfied customers and doing whatever it took to resolve the problems of those who weren't having a great experience. He was very active in his church.
Ed was the calm and loving leader in his home. He loved his wife and children endlessly. He always made time for them and made it clear to them that they were the most important people in his world. He was also the Head Chef in the home, even when his kitchen experiments didn't go as planned!
Even though Ed moved away from Detroit for work, he continued to stay involved in the lives of his mother, daughter, sisters, and his many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved "Uncle Ed" dearly. He was fun and funny, a son, father, brother, and uncle who always had time and words of love and wisdom. To quote Ed's mother Gloria, "Ed was a sweet and gentle soul, a rock for me."
Ed is survived by his wife, Elda Michelle; his four children: Dejaa, Naomi, Jose, and Elaina; his mother, Gloria Morris; his sisters: Melissa Morris and Brooke Morris; as well as other family members and countless friends.
All of his family, church family, and friends will miss him always.
