Rebecca "Becky" Perryman Howland, 68, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, at her home in
Conroe, Texas, surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly.
Born on January 19, 1957, in Baytown, Texas, Becky was the daughter of Lee R. Perryman Betty J. (Hudman) Perryman Powers. She grew up on a small family farm where she found joy in riding her horse, attending rodeos, swimming at Hot Wells, dancing, playing music by ear, and spending time with friends.
Throughout her life, Becky embraced a wide range of roles with grit and grace-working as a painter, nail stylist, courier, hotshot driver, paramedic, dispatcher, accounts payable clerk, and traffic/fleet administrator. Her versatility and work ethic were a testament to her resilience and determination.
In 1972, Becky married H. Edward Howland III, and together they raised two daughters who became the pride of her life.
Becky had a natural talent for gardening, organization, and carpentry, and she could pick up nearly any musical instrument and play it by ear. Her creativity and hands-on spirit were evident in everything she touched.
She was deeply involved in her church community, contributing to the Trail of Life Cowboy Church in
Conroe, Texas, for nearly 17 years. Whether helping compile the church cookbook, participating in the Samaritan's Purse Shoebox ministry, assisting with Bible study, or greeting congregants at the hospitality booth each Sunday morning, Becky served with joy and humility. The church was her sanctuary, and its members were her extended family.
Becky was known for her resilient spirit, unwavering convictions, and quiet courage. She faced life's challenges head-on and never backed down from adversity. She valued order and intention-even planning her final journey with care and clarity.
In her later years, Becky experienced a profound spiritual awakening. Her faith became a cornerstone of her life, and she felt called to share it with others. Members of her church often spoke of how Becky's gentle encouragement and heartfelt kindness led them closer to God. She had a gift for making people feel seen and welcomed, greeting each person who entered the church with warmth and sincerity.
One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 139:14: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Among her proudest achievements were her daughters, her sobriety, and the transformation she experienced through her relationship with God.
Becky is survived by her daughters, Tina and Kacy Howland; four grandchildren-James Trevor, John Edward, Amber Lynn, and Adrian Ray; and two great-grandchildren-Coraline and Sophia.
She is also survived by her sisters: Donna (Jim Woodruff), Betty (James Byars), and Gina Perryman; as well as her nieces-Jamie, Rachelle, and Destiny-and nephews-Christopher, Jamie, and Jonathan-along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children.
Becky's life was a testament to redemption, grace, and love. She walked through fire and came out shining-her heart open, her faith strong, and her arms always ready to embrace those in need. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the quiet strength she carried.
In the final chapter of Becky's life, she often expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering love, care, and support of her daughter, Tina, and her grandson, Jack. Their presence brought comfort and strength during her most difficult days, and she wanted everyone to know that her journey would have been far more difficult without them by her side.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Stein family and Becky's colleagues at Triple S Steel for their unwavering support throughout her illness and final days.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." -Matthew 25:23
