Dan Groesbeck

Dan Garrett Groesbeck, 81, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, at Azria Health in Winterset, Iowa. Dan was born to George Garrett Groesbeck and Maxine (Berry) Groesbeck on April 5, 1944, in Creston, Iowa. He attended Lorimor schools where he graduated with the class of 1962.

Dan was united in marriage to Dolores J. McKray on February 22, 1976, in Lorimor, Iowa. He spent his winters working for Frank Adams as a bulldozer operator. Dan also worked for R.B. Birch operating a bulldozer and did highway work around Iowa. Until his retirement Dan owned and operated Groesbeck Construction for approximately 30 years.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores (Dee) Groesbeck and brother, George Groesbeck. Dan is survived by his stepson, Jerry (Colleen) Jenkins, Jr. of Des Moines; sisters, Esther (Lon) Means of Johnston and Ruth McDowell of Johnston; multiple nieces and nephews; along with his granddaughter, Madison Jenkins.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 28 at Powers Funeral Home in Afton. Services will be livestreamed.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm with the services beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will be at Groesbeck Cemetery near Lorimor. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.powersfh.com.
