Dan L. Pine

Dan L. "Bub" Pine, 90, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026.

Born on July 7, 1935, in Columbus City, Iowa, Dan was the son of Haig and Nola Pine. In February 1955, he entered the U.S. Army and served at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

Following his military service, Dan began a long and successful career with Texaco in Long Beach, California. Starting as an office clerk, he steadily advanced through the company to become a senior marketing representative. In 1978, a promotion brought him to Tucson, where he continued his dedicated service to Texaco until his retirement in 1994 after more than 34 years with the company.

Dan embraced an active lifestyle and had a lifelong passion for sports. He was an avid tennis player who competed in both singles and doubles matches. He also gave back to his community by volunteering as a youth basketball coach at his church.

He is survived by his daughter Debbie (Eric) Juengel; his sister Elaine (Harold) Nicholson; grandchildren Danielle Juengel and Derek Juengel; three great-grandchildren; and longtime friend Susan Lake.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held at Calvary Tucson East Campus, 8711 E. Speedway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85710, on Friday, February 13 at 10 a.m. A final service will take place in his hometown of Columbus City, Iowa, at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral Home, 603 2nd St., Columbus Junction, IA 52738; date and time to be announced.
