Dana Britton

In the early hours of her 64th birthday, Dana pirouetted into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father while surrounded by family singing hymns of praise to God.
She was born August 9, 1960, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in VA. The youngest of four children, she is survived by her mom Jessie Taylor Britton of Greenbelt, MD; her dad Royal C. Britton (Ada) of Bear Grass, NC; her sister Wanda Holson (Gene); brothers Ron (Melissa) and Cliff (Angela); and stepsister Renee Pennington.
Dana was a beloved daughter and stepdaughter, a cherished sister and sister-in-law, a loving stepmother, a fun aunt to over two dozen nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend. She brought joy and laughter to almost every person and challenge in her life. At her core, she was an artist, a muse, a poet, a painter, a photographer, a fashionista-as well as a comic with sudden turns of phases that made a person go "what?" before laughing hilariously.
For many, she was the consummate cosmetic professional and skin-care specialist who brought warmth, knowledge, joy, and empathy into her workplace and client relationships.
Born into a military family, Dana lived in several places during her early years. After graduating from Suitland High School, she moved to Greenbelt, MD to attend the University of Maryland (College Park), graduating with a bachelor's degree in marketing. Later, Annapolis became her home where she thoroughly enjoyed the water, the restaurants, and the entire Annapolis vibe.
A Christian funeral will be held at Mid-Atlantic Community Church, 2485 Davidsonville Rd Gambrills, MD, 21054 on August 28, 2024.
- The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 am
- The Service will begin at 11:30 am with a luncheon immediately afterwards
- A private interment will be held at a later date in Chocowinity, NC
