Dana Ellen Crandall, 74, of Manchester, TN, passed away on August 20, 2025, at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. She was born on July 15, 1951, in Oklahoma City, OK, to the late Howard H. Benbrook and Lovella "Benny" Emma Benbrook. She was raised by her mother and her stepfather, the late Albert Frederick Schabel.

An avid outdoorswoman and animal lover, Dana had a zest for life that was evident in her many passions. She found joy in quilting, gardening, fishing, and horseback riding. She was a skilled competitor, having been an accomplished barrel racer with a saddle on display in the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Her love of fishing led her to compete in many Bass tournaments. She also had a deep interest in horticulture, even taking college courses on the subject. A compassionate animal lover, Dana also dedicated her time to fostering cats. In her professional life, she had a diverse career in both banking and aviation.

Dana is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marion Florence Batt.

She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony B. Crandall; her sister, Sharon "Butch" Francis Lewis (Dennis); her daughter, Monica Bell VanDyke and husband, Terry Lee VanDyke Jr.; her stepchildren, Tanya Dawn Crandall and Brian Anthony Crandall; and her special niece, Tammy Lewis.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be posted on the Manchester Funeral Home website.

When I was a teenager I spent time with my great grandmother/her grandmother in OK City. Dana came to visit and I was impressed by her fun spirit and energy. She was beautiful then and I´m sure she still was!
I´m praying God brings peace and strength to your family.
