George Crandall Obituary

George A. Crandall, 78, of East Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 19, 1947, in Manchester, CT, the son of the late Henry Crandall and Nettie (Ashwell) Crandall. After graduating high school, George honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked for many years in the Water Department for the Town of Manchester. Above all, George loved spending time with and caring for his family, who were the center of his life. He is survived by his children: Jeffrey Crandall, Petrese Simianakis, Darlene Parker, Dane Brewer, Victoria Brewer, Michelle Daries, Lisa Rogers, and Gerald Fortier; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Theresa (Grondin) Crandall, and by his daughter, Charlotte Zapor. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, for visitation. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, August 25, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford.
