Daniel Paul Abel

Daniel Paul Abel, 59, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on March 7, 2025, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in the picturesque Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania before making St. Augustine his home in 1977.
Daniel had a lifelong passion for cooking and spent many years as a chef in various restaurants, where he earned the admiration of both colleagues and guests for his culinary skills. He was known for his ability to craft meals that brought people together and created lasting memories.
Eleven years ago, Daniel met the love of his life, Jimi, and the two were married on January 24, 2017. Their bond was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments.
Daniel's warmth and vibrant personality touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a gifted storyteller, always ready with a tale or a joke, and could brighten any room with his infectious optimism. A lover of romance movies, Daniel was also known for his love of whistling and talking with anyone who would listen. He had an incredible ability to lift spirits and always put positive vibes into the world around him. His generosity knew no bounds-he would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought.
Daniel's kindness, humor, and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved husband, Jimi; brother, Joseph Abel; sister in-law, Tammy Abel; sisters, Kimberly Teague and Tiffany Abel; nephews, Joseph, Michael and Johnny Abel; niece, Kelley Register and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Abel and brother, Randy Abel.
