Daniel Glenn Anderson, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend went home to be with his Lord on January 1st, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born in Anchorage, Alaska on April 10th, 1950, to Vernon and Ruth Anderson. After six years of ministry in North St Paul, MN, in 1959 the family was called to serve on the mission field in Brazil.
Over the course of the next nine years Dan would have many adventures on the mission field which he happily repeated to all who would listen, but more importantly he would develop a love for the four things that defined him: fishing, soccer, music, and service to the Lord.
Dan graduated from Del Mar High School in San Jose, CA in 1968 while the family was on sabbatical. In 1973 Dan graduated from Bethel College and in 1975 he earned his master's degree in education from St. Thomas. On March 22nd, 1975, he married the love of his life Barbara Lois (Sandstrom) and shortly thereafter they relocated back to Brazil where they welcomed their first child Michael David.
After teaching biology at an international school in Brazil for two years, Dan and Barb moved back to the United States where they settled in Buffalo, MN and welcomed their second child, Christina Joy. Dan established the American Family Insurance Agency in Buffalo and ran a successful business for over 36 years. His real passion however was teaching, counseling and playing music. For many years he played in the band Cornerstone which he founded with his brother Tim, Kevin Walton, Shawn Kolles and Dale Bergstrom and most Sundays, you would find him on stage at Buffalo Covenant Church playing and singing in the worship band. In 1988 he earned his degree in family and marriage counseling from Bethel Seminary which he used for many years to help others.
After retiring from his insurance agency, he frequently joined his brother Tim on their cattle ranch in Brazil where he took great pleasure in running the estate.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Ruth Anderson and his brother-in-law, Bob Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his son, Michael (Stephanie) Anderson and daughter, Christina (Chad) Hanson as well his sister, Priscilla Anderson and brother, Tim (Robin) Anderson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Peyton, Jack, Mckenna, Kayla, and Emery.
His memory will be cherished by numerous other relatives and friends whose lives he touched.
