Dan Bartell, 81, passed away January 9, 2024, leaving his beloved wife Donna, daughters Beth and Laura, and his hometown where he was honored for a day as “Mr. North Little Rock “.
After graduating from North Little Rock High School, he attended the University of Arkansas where he received a Bachelor's Degree and his Juris Doctor from the U of A Law School. During a long, successful career, he became Senior Vice President and Trust Officer at Regions Bank of Little Rock and a Licensed NASD broker dealer. Dan had a love of life which was evident to everyone he met. He was an avid golfer and marathon runner; leading to his time as President of North Hills Country Club, the founder of the Arkansas Road Runners Club Association Grand Prix Series, and eventually was inducted into the Arkansas Runners Hall of Fame. His daughters, Laura and Beth, along with his wife, Donna were his biggest supporters. After having a quadruple bypass heart surgery and prostate cancer, his character and desire to help and love others shown through. He became President of the Arkansas Heart Association and founding board member of Arkansas Prostate Cancer Association.
Dan was a man who lived with Christ at the center of his life. He always gave God the credit and it was clear that he cared. Dan was an active member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, served on many committees, taught Sunday School, volunteered with the youth and Ozark Mission Project, and sang in the choir. He was a founding member of the men’s prayer group at Friendly Chapel Church and supported their well-known Friendly Chapel Fish Fry which raises money every year for the unsheltered and those in need.
A celebration of life service will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock on Thursday, January 25th at 1:00 followed by a reception. Please share your memories of Dan online at https://app.memories.net/memorials/dan-bartell-105604.
