I met Dan at NYIT when we were in college together. Dan was always the life of the party and a great friend. We had many a laugh together and he was always making something unique. There was a time when he kept a shopping cart from one of the trips to the supermarket down the street from our dorm and then turned into a lounge chair for his dorm room. It was probably one of the most comfortable chairs I ever sat in and also maybe we used it for a race down the hall of the dorm...maybe, LOL. Even though we have not seen each other in years, we did speak a few times on the phone and it always brought a smile to my face. Dan was an amazing soul and an amazing friend who could always put a smile on anyone´s face. You will be missed my friend and to his family, please accept our deepest condolences.

I met Dan in the NYIT dorms. I walked by his room and he was splitting frozen hamburgers on the counter by banging a butter knife with his shoe. That was the start of a friendship that lasted years. Life took us our separate ways but I always remembered the good times we had together at NYIT and Sea Cliff. My deepest condolences to Dans family. Rest in peace my friend.

I first met Dan at the NYIT dorm in Hempstead NY. We became fast friends and spent many times together socializing or even studying together. We went to several musical events, we saw the Kinks at the LI Collesium, the cover band LA Women at CW Post college to name a few. He loved being around people and was always the life of the party. I attended many of his parties in "Hilde House" and in Glen Cove. I will always be thinking about you Dan and hope to see you one day on the other side. My condolences to the Beckmann family and all his friends and family. You will be missed.

I had the privilege of meeting Dan during his NYIT days and while he lived in Glen Cove and Sea Cliff. I was a partner with him in a little antique shop in Sea Cliff where he sold his spectacular bird houses. My former husband and I I spent many Halloweens, New Year´s Eve´s and 4th of July´s with Dan. He loved to socialize and entertain guests. His Halloween parties were legendary! We were friends and neighbors for many years. Dan had a kind and generous spirit. Condolences to the family.-
