Daniel “Danny” Bitolas was born on December 28th, 1948 in Pecos, TX to Manuel “Bibi” and Cruz Ortiz Bitolas. He graduated from Pecos High School and was employed as a Foreman at Pennzoil for a number of years before working at the Reeves County Detention Center for almost 20 years as a Corrections Officer. Danny was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was stationed at Ayers Kaserne “The Rock” in Kirch-Göns, West Germany, serving with the 36th Infantry Regiment. Danny was a life-long Pecos resident and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Cruz, and one brother, Manuel “Bobby” Bitolas.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Alma Urias Bitolas, sister Mary “Lila” Bitolas, his daughters Sharon Bitolas, Alexandra Salcido (Daniel Salcido), and his sons Raul Bitolas (Kelli Bitolas), Daniel Bitolas Jr, and 7 grandchildren Jozlyn, Raul, Jayden, Cruz, Jaimee, Legend, and Gianna.

Pallbearers will be Mike Chavez, Francisco Martinez, Joaquin Urias, Sotero Urias, Jayden Salcido, Raul Salcido Sr., Armando Gomez, and Raul M. Bitolas. Honorary Pallbearers include Jozlyn Salcido and Daniel Salcido.

Visitation will be held for Danny on Thursday, March 21, 2024 From 11:30am - 9:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas

Burial will follow at GreenWood Cemetery. 

The Bitolas family sends their sincere gratitude to the nurses and physical therapists at Reeves Regional Health, Myra Taylor & American Home Health, as well as Dr's. Stike, Cerna, and Bajaj, and the West Texas Veterans Affairs office in Odessa, TX.
