Daniel J. Blenker, age 71, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, June 13, 2024 in Neenah, WI. He was born May 13, 1953 in Stevens Point, WI, son of the late Antone (Fred) and Marie Blenker. He attended St. Stephens Catholic School and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. Dan married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Roth July 21, 1973 in Milladore, WI and recently celebrated 50 years together. He was employed by Boldt Construction for 30 plus years typically in a supervising role but was a carpenter/millwright by trade. Dan was extremely talented and enjoyed working with his hands. He built three beautiful homes for his family. One of these was a cabin in the Minocqua area where he enjoyed spending time with the family and especially with his grandkids. He also loved being outdoors fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was always interested in learning new things, at one point attaining his pilot's license and owning a small plane. Dan also went back to North Central Technical College for an Electromechanical degree, graduating with high honors.
Dan's greatest quality evident to everyone was the love he showed for his wife Bonnie. Even as his health declined in recent years from a long battle with cancer, his biggest concern was never about him, it was always about Bonnie. He took care of her to the very last day doing it his own way, showing everyone how much he loved her.
Dan is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son Ryan (Mary) Blenker and grandkids Declan, Grace, Aidan, Margaret, and Camden; son Mark (Lisa) Blenker and grandkids Aneka, Owen, Audrie, and Isaac. Dan is further survived by his siblings: Sue Kaczmarek, Fred (Marilyn), Joyce (Roger) Johnson, CiCie (Dan) Frederickson, Peter (Pam), Marilyn Elliott, and David (Tracy), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marie Blenker and a brother Richard.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday July 18, 2024 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church 900 Geiger St. Neenah with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. A luncheon will be served at the church following the service. For online condolences please visit: kesslerfh.com.
