He was such a special neighbor - always ready to help and always offering prayers for those of us who were in a place of needing God's special assistance in healing some really awful health issues. His compassion and caring for all of us treasure the time that we had with him. when the Trump flag was not flying, we know that all was not well. God has a new special buddy to get his work done. We will miss his fine friendship and words of encouragement as we would drive by and stop to have conversations with him by his driveway. May God be with the wonderful family and may God give a special welcome to this very special and wonderful friend. Words cannot express how very much we shall all miss him. Eleanor Anna Miller

Seeing Dan during our annual October trips to visit Mother Virginia was always a treat. What an example he provided! Dan always outshone the colorful Hawaiian shirts he sported.

My wife Cathy and I have been parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata, MD since 1990. Over the years we have been so blessed by the friends and acquaintances we have come to know through our Holy Catholic Family at Sacred Heart. Of the many, Dan Bowes a friend now for many years will always be remembered within our hearts. We know Dan to be one of the most generous and dedicated people in our area. We have worked the Sacred Heart Church dinners with Dan going back some twenty years and Cathy being a regular at daily mass at Mount Carmel would always see Dan on the alter helping Father and offering a smile, kind words and a handshake when leaving the chapel. To Dan's family thank you so much for sharing Dan with us and all you have brought to our lives and the lives of so many others. Dan will be missed but the legacy he leaves behind provides a path for the rest to follow in the spirit of giving and doing God's will.
