Daniel Robert Cox, 66 of Sterling, IL passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL. He was a loving partner, father, grandfather, brother, and son. He was employed at Northwestern and Sterling Steel for over 35 years. If he wasn't sitting on his deck keeping life simple, he was fishing, playing cards or being with his family/friends.
Daniel was born in Chicago, IL on September 29th, 1958, the son of Andrew and Ruth (Huske) Cox Sr.
Daniel R Cox is Survived by Sherri Haenni, his partner of 18 years, and daughters Stepheny Cox (Kyle Schindel), and Brittany (Kyle) Shady, as well as his step children, Adam Fritz, Alicia Fritz, Larry (Angela) Yerk, and Andrew (Laura) Yerk. Along with grandchildren, Zachary Vandervort, Jacob Andrews, William Andrews, Oscar Palmer, Lilah Yerk and Abram Yerk. His Mother Ruth Cox, and siblings Andrew Cox Jr. Sandra Richard Cox, James (Carrie) Cox. And his beloved yorkie Holly.
Daniel is proceeded in death by his father Andrew Wesley Cox Sr.
A Memorial gathering will be from noon-2:00 p.m. Saturday December 28th, 2024 at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, IL. Followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm and a Luncheon at the Sterling American Legion from 3:00p.m.-6:00p.m.
Memorials may be directed to Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon, IL.
