Daniel Cannon Dickert, Jr, 80, of Prosperity died December 31, 2022.
Born September 11, 1942 in Newberry, he was the son of Daniel Cannon Dickert, Sr and Lera Long Duncan Dickert. He has been married 31 years to Sandra Dickert.
Daniel retired in 2012 as an Automotive Technician with Kunkle Tire. Prior to that he worked with Dickert Diesel. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where he was an usher.
In his younger years he enjoyed square dancing with the Clover Leaf Square Dancing Group where he met his wife, Sandra. He enjoyed the life they built together and was proud of his son Cannon. After retirement Daniel enjoyed living a quiet life on the lake. He enjoyed being involved in many different activities, including tinkering on old cars.
In addition to his wife Sandra, and son Cannon, he is survived by his brother, Ronald C. Dickert, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters Peggy D. Forbis, Susan D. Thomas, and sister in law Rosemarie Dickert.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, 11am, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Following the service, inurnment will take place at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
