Daniel Ray Dustin, 64, of Mount Vernon passed away on October 14th, 2025 at his home in Mount Vernon. He was born on March 12th, 1961, to William and Katherine (McCormick) Dustin in Charleston, WV.
Daniel was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Daniel was a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, remembered most for his deep and unconditional love for his family. He never missed a sporting event or family gathering, always showing up with pride and joy. His greatest passion in life was simply being with those he loved.
When Daniel wasn't spending time with family, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life - fishing, hunting for mushrooms and ginseng, or using his metal detector to uncover hidden treasures. He had a generous spirit and was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Daniel is survived by his mother Katherine McCormick of WV; children Cory Horner of Mount Vernon, OH, Daniel (Aundryea) Dustin of Pataskala, OH, Dakota (Rachel) Dustin of Mount Vernon, OH and Brittany Dustin of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Kyle, Kennedy, Riley, Alexia, Juliauna, Parker, Alaila, Lucia, Cecilia, Lucas; great-grandchildren Carson, Journee and Jersey; siblings Randy Dustin, William Frank Dustin, Donna Dustin-Jones and Joey Dustin.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father William Dustin and a nephew Taylor.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm with a funeral service at 12:00 pm. Graveside services will follow at Brandon Cemetery in Brandon, OH.
