Daniel Escher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory - Manitowoc on Sep. 6, 2025.
Daniel Lee Escher, age 65, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Daniel was born December 27, 1959, in Milwaukee, son of Caroline Davis-Odor and the late Roger Escher. He graduated from New Holstein High School and then served in the United States Army and Navy. Following his service, he attended Technical School and realized his true passion was in truck driving. Dan spent his working career doing what he loved most – driving truck across the country. Dan had the greenest thumb around and when he wasn't on the road he loved gardening – everything from flowers to vegetables. He also enjoyed some good country western music, hunting, and fishing.

Dan leaves behind his life-long companion: Bev Escher, Manitowoc; mother: Caroline Davis-Odor, Elmwood, TN; siblings: Wanda Johnson and special friend David Andrews, Kiel, Sandra Meier, Chilton, Tammy Heimmerman, Horicon, Kimberly (Dennis) Jacobs, Chilton, Dawn Cristiano, Coral Springs, FL, Todd Escher and special friend Shelly Leonard, Green Cove Springs, FL; step-daughters: Sue (Ken) Curtis and Judy Wilson, both of Manitowoc. He is further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Roger Escher; daughter: Jennifer Lee Escher; sister: Cheri Escher; step-daughter: Carol Sukowaty; step-granddaughter: Carmen Boutwell.

Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc. A private Celebration of Life will take place on September 7, 2025, in Wisconsin. As a final tribute to his lifelong passion for the open road, Dan's urn will travel one last journey in the cab of a semi-truck with his sister, Kimberly, before ending at his final resting place at the Cemetery at the Cabin in Elmwood, TN, on September 15, 2025.

Dan will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved him.

After almost 45 years of walking side-by-side, my love won't end – it will simply change form. You will always be apart of my heart, and I will cherish all the days we have spent together. I love you always, Dan. – Bev

I knew Dan Escher back in the late 1970's growing up and to some kids they saw a serious even stern type personality quality.
After our separate military commitments ended and we reconvene our friendship I will always remember him with unwavering loyalty.
We hunted and fished at times which Dan always loved which explains why he was so much better at it...I just went to hang out!
Dan was a man of honor, when he said something you could bank on it no matter what! Which also explains his one time marriage to Bev.
Good Bye Ol friend you'll be forever missed!!
