Daniel Ewing aka Capt. America rode right into heaven to be greeted by his best friend, Jesus Christ. On September 18, 2024, as he left this world for Heaven, he was surrounded by his strong, loving family.
Daniel Ewing was many things to many people. Of course, most people knew him as "Capt. America". First of all, he was a faithful believer in God. Daniel was also a devoted husband, a loving father, and papa. He loved helping people and he had a way of capturing their attention and giving them hope. Daniel led so many people out of their darkness of addiction. He did this by loving them, telling them the truth, and sometimes with silly jokes. Daniel always hoped to be able to make them smile. He was a most excellent facilitator at Addiction Recovery Ministries. He loved to sponsor men to attend the "Walk to Emmaus" and then join with them on their new journey of faith. Daniel's passion was fishing. He loved it so much, that as soon as he got out of the hospital, he went fishing with his kids.
Daniel has left us with a beautiful legacy of love, joy, and hope. The people who knew Daniel will remember him on his Harley riding through town with the American flag flying up behind him; he was quite a sight with his crazy hats, barefooted and cut off jeans. We will remember that smile and him showing a peace sign to bring a smile. We all knew it was Spring when he rode through town on his motorcycle.
We know, as he entered the Kingdom of Heaven, Daniel was well received with these words, "Well done good and faithful servant".
Daniel will be forever in our hearts.
