Mr. Daniel Fenechi III, 82, of Wayne Township passed away on Friday, July 18th, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford.
Mr. Fenechi was born in Ellwood City on October 22nd, 1942 to the late Daniel and Mary (Sanko) Fenechi Sr.. He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1960. On February 2nd, 1961 Dan enlisted with the United States Army and served with the 82nd Airborne Division until his honorable discharge on February 1st, 1964. He was awarded the Parachutist Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and Letter of Commendation. Following his service with the Army Dan worked at Halstead Industries in Zelienople and then later earned his Master's Degree in Marketing at Youngstown State University. For 35 years Dan worked as a State Farm Insurance Agent at his office in Ewing Park. He is affiliated with the First United Methodist Church where he volunteered with the Carpenters Project and the Over The Hill Gang which built handicap ramps for people in need of one. He also was a longtime volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program. An outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Joyce (Mehard) Fenechi whom he married on December 26th, 1970, and his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel W. and Bobbi Fenechi of Fort Ashby, West Virginia.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City with Rev. Derek Platt officiating. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the church on Wednesday by 10:50 am to conduct full military honors.
