Daniel Charles Filippeli, 76, passed away Septemer 26, 2023 following an illness.
Daniel grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and graduated from The University of Arkansas in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
He moved to Washington DC, where in 1973, he attended American University and graduated with a Master of Arts in Government. Continuing at American University, he finished with an ABD for a PHD in Public Administration and Political Science.
He worked at Housing and Urban Development as a program manager, then worked on the House Appropriations Committee.
He changed careers and became a consultant for historic restoration and preservation for Maryland National Capitol Parks and Planning, as well at the Maryland Historical Society and various private firms.
Daniel is survived by his wife Lynda Sasscer Hill, and his two brothers, Albert, and Steven Filippelli.
Sasscer Hill will be attending a Candlelight Remembrance Service at Georges Funeral Home at seven pm on December 12, 2023. She hopes that anyone who wishes to remember Daniel with her will attend that evening.
