Daniel Green, of De Pere, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center with his son Matthew and daughter-in-law Judy by his side.
Dan was born October 11, 1955 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Vincent and Elaine (Kamps) Green. He is survived by his son Matthew (Judy) Green, siblings Allen (Lynn) Green, Gary (Nancy) Green, sister-in-law Elaine Green, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ronald Green.
Dan was raised on his family's farm. He was a 1974 graduate from West De Pere High School. While he was in school, he enjoyed playing sports and was part of the West De Pere Phantoms varsity basketball team.
After graduating high school, Dan took up his first job at Schreiber Foods as an on-line operator. When he lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, he worked at Circus Circus and Sam's Town casinos as a floor supervisor. When Dan moved back to Green Bay, he took a job in sales at All Seasons Spas. His longest tenure was working with his family at Extended Stay and Settle Inn.
He was a big fan of sports and loved watching his favorite teams play which were the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family. He played softball and was in a bowling league with his brother Allen. He loved spending time with his son Matthew, they enjoyed shooting hoops, collecting basketball cards, watching movies, going out to eat, and playing card games such as Cribbage and Sheepshead.
Dan was proud of keeping his home and yard well-maintained, finding joy in planting flowers, feeding birds, and watching them. Las Vegas was his favorite vacation destination, he enjoyed traveling with his family there to gamble in hopes to win a Royal Flush on a poker machine. His favorite family recipe was his mother's spaghetti, he loved the frog legs at Five Corners and seafood at Red Lobster.
A private family and friends service will take place at Ryan Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26, 2025, with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery on Monday, April 28, 2025.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the many healthcare workers at Aurora whom took great care of Dan for the past few months. It is impossible to name each of you, but we want you to know that we sincerely appreciate your expertise, kindness and compassion.
