Viewing and visitation for Mr. Daniel Longoria Guerrero will begin Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.
Daniel Longoria Guerrero was born on February 9, 1943, in Karnes City, Texas, to the late Jose and Leonora Guerrero. He passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, in Lubbock. He is lovingly remembered as a dedicated family man who always prioritized the needs of his loved ones.
During his remarkable career, Daniel devoted many years of service to Zahn Paving, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. Outside of his professional life, Daniel found joy in a variety of activities. He had a passion for playing bingo, which brought him much delight, and he also cherished the simple pleasures of fishing and camping. A lover of entertainment, Daniel was especially fond of watching cartoons and cowboy movies, which added to the richness of his life. His musical tastes leaned towards Mexican music and rancheras, reflecting his cultural roots. Additionally, he cheered passionately for the Washington Redskins, now known as the Commanders.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jose and Leonora Guerrero, his wife Refugia Guerrero and his daughter, Peggy Sue Guerrero. While his great-great-granddaughter, Alice Quincy Campbell, has also passed away, Daniel's spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Daniel's legacy lives on through his surviving family members: his daughter, Diana Flores and her husband Martin both of Lubbock; a son Sammy Guerrero of Clyde; and his brothers, Henry Guerrero, Joe Guerrero, and Ramon Guerrero all of Lubbock. Sisters Yolanda Gutierrez, Janie Perez, Alvira Ramirez, Mary Ann Rodriguez, and Elda Guerrero all of Lubbock. Daniel took great pride in his family, including his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.
