Daniel Eugene Hamill

Daniel Eugene Hamill, 87, of Silver City, NM, was called home to meet the Lord on December 30, 2025, at the Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, NM after struggling with various health issues for several years. He was born on March 23, 1938, in Ringold, OK, to Sylvester Franklin Hamill and Lady Pearl Hamill of Ringold, OK.

Daniel grew up in OK, and Tres Piedras, NM. While he was employed by Rust Tractor in El Paso, TX, he met his wife, Beverly. They were married on July 27th, 1973. They combined their families. In 1974, Daniel was transferred to Silver City, NM. As the lead field mechanic, he repaired heavy equipment for the various mines and ranchers in Grant County. Eventually, he was hired by Hamilton Construction where he worked as a machinist until retirement. Daniel was a hard-working man who provided well for his family. He loved to fish, was an avid reader, liked to reload ammunition, and really enjoyed machining. He will be deeply missed by his family.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly Ann Hamill; sons, Robert Glen Hamill (Cristina) of CT; Daniel Eugene Hamill (Amanda) of NC; daughters Katherine Louise Hamill, of AZ, Rebecca Hamill Sherman of San Manuel, AZ, Deborah Kaye Torrance of Roanoke, VA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Brenda Joan Struck of Taos, NM, Shirley Ann Doneson of San Cristobal, NM. He is preceded in death by one son, Roy Lenn Hamill of VT and one sister, Carmenia Faye Hertz of OK.
