Daniel Llewelyn “Danny” Hatt passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 77. Known for his quick wit, and animated storytelling, he had a way of making ordinary moments unforgettable.
Born in San Francisco, California, Danny never lost his fondness for his hometown. He was gregarious by nature and regaled friends and family with entertaining tales.
Danny served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He faced the challenges of service with courage and dedication, earning a Purple Heart, a testament to his bravery and commitment to his fellow soldiers and country.
Even with his health challenges throughout life, Danny handled them with remarkable grace and stamina.
He loved animals, and delighted in visits to the dog beach in Santa Cruz, where he would laugh at dogs running full speed into the surf.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Angela, the most important person in his life, his sister, Marina, who shared in his laughter and funny spirit, and a host of family and friends.
His generosity and humor left a lasting impact on everyone who had the good fortune to know him.
