Daniel Hearon Obituary
57, of Mooresville passed away on January 4, 2026 at home, after an eight-month battle with cancer. Dan was born on May 25, 1968 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Robert Chesley Hearon, III and Ruth Mae (Williams) Hearon.
Dan proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Upon returning home from service, he worked as a detective with the Indiana State Police for 31 years. Dan enjoyed spending time around home with his family, working on muscle cars, he especially liked Camaros and Chevy Novas. A history buff, he enjoyed reading about military history and traveling to historical battlefields. He will be remembered for his tough exterior who had a heart of gold.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Craig Hearon.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly (Martin) Hearon; sons G.J. Harris (Terri), Patrick Harris; grandchildren Harry Harris, Garrett Harris, Darren Harris; brothers Jeff Hearon (Malynn), Rob Hearon; nephew Robbie, and nieces Allie, Hannah, Helen and Sarah.
Family and friends will gather in celebration of Dan's life on Friday, January 9th from 10:00am-1:00pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest privately in White Lick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made in Dan's memory to Wheeler's Mission, 205 E. New York Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204, https://wheelermission.org/.
