Daniel Ray "Dan" Hibdon, 70, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away November 14, 2023 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. He was born October 14, 1953 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the late Ivy Ray and Anna (Hicks) Hibdon. Dan married Vickie (Jordan) Hibdon on May 3, 1985. They were blessed with 38 years of marriage.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Naomi; step-siblings, Mary, Esther, Joe, and Phillip; and a baby brother, James.
Alongside his wife, Dan was the owner of Dan's Tax Service. They ran their accounting business for 35 years. Dan loved the Lord and sharing the gospel through music. At age 16, he cut an album in Nashville with the Royal Sons. He also toured with the Bradshaw Brothers and Don. Dan played the piano at church and even preached a few times at his fathers church. He loved people and joking around with them. Dan was always putting others before himself. He was a loving husband, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew and cared for him.
A Visitation will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 am with Reverend Gary Davenport officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
