Daniel took great joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, tending to his garden, spending time outdoors, and was often found sitting with a good book, particularly the Bible. He loved watching Boyle County Football or NASCAR races. He attended Cornerstone Assembly of God before his decline in health. His kindness, warmth, and laughter will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Hogue and Crystal Gardner (Eddie), his brother, Mark Hogue (Vivian), his cherished grandchildren, Gabriel Sheron, Isaiah Hogue, Jordan, and Morgan Strevels, and his nephews, Matthew and Mark Hogue, who will carry forward his memory and legacy.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City, Kentucky, with Rev. Tom Lane officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Pallbearers will be Mark Hogue, Gabe Sheron, Isaiah Hogue, Matthew Hogue, Taylor Haggard, and Jared Cummins. Honorary pallbearer Karl Luttrell. Following the service, he will be buried at Junction City Cemetery.
