A Funeral Mass for Daniel R. Johnson, age 70, of Heuvelton, will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:00AM at St. Raphael's Church in Heuvelton with Rev. Kevin O'Brien officiating. Calling hours will start prior to services from 9:00AM until 10:30AM at Frary Funeral Home in Ogdensburg. A Celebration of Life will follow after at the Heuvelton Fire Hall. Mr. Johnson passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Danielle Gardner, of Ogdensburg, Ryan Johnson, of Gouverneur, and Jennifer Ethridge and her husband Curt, of Heuvelton; his grandchildren, Paige and Conner Gardner, and Cory and Cody Ethridge; his sister, Rita Rolfe, of Ogdensburg; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his brother, Donald Johnson.

Daniel was born on August 14, 1955, in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of the late George and Rita LeMay Johnson. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1974 and went to work at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital. He married Barbara M. Ashlaw on September 24, 1977 at St. Raphael's Church with Rev. Philip Allen presiding. Daniel worked for Lupia Electric as a purchaser until their closure, continuing his role at Everything Electric in Potsdam until his recent illness.

He enjoyed woodworking, flying RC airplanes, and spending time at his grandchildren's sporting events. A lover of music-especially the Beatles-he also had a deep passion for baseball, cheering for the Boston Red Sox. In football, he was long a Dallas Cowboys supporter, though in recent years he also became a Buffalo Bills fan.

Donation in his memory can be made to the Heuvelton Volunteer Fire Department, 95 N. State St., Heuvelton, NY 13654.
