Chapel Hill Funeral Home & Crematory - Sioux FallsDaniel Duane Lindner of Sioux Falls, SD passed away in his home on January 30th, 2026 at the age of 67. Dan was born in Watertown, SD on May 9th, 1958 and graduated from West Central High School in 1976. Some of the highlights of his “glory days” include pitching for the Colton and Humboldt baseball teams (#9 of course) and driving around in his green Ford Mustang.
He was a devoted employee of Sisson Printing for 27 years and even planned to work the day he passed away, which would be something he would be proud of. What he considered his greatest achievement though was raising 3 strong, independent women. What brought the biggest smile to his face and sparkle in his eye was his grandchildren. He loved picking them up from school (always with a treat bag), listening to their funny stories, and being their biggest fan at all of their activities. Dan was best known as a giver – a caring father and grandfather, willing to lend a helping hand, and always quick with a come-back. Some of the talents Dan shared were his cooking and baking, including his famous beans and chocolate chip banana bread. What will be missed the most about Dan is his steady presence, loyalty, and unwavering faith that everything will work out. Dan looked up to his parents, especially their strong Catholic faith, morals, and values. You could always count on Dan to do the right thing.
Dan’s version of heaven will include the Twins, Hallmark movies, Diet Mt. Dew, and his dog Sully. Dan was greeted with open arms in heaven by his mother (Barbara Kidder Lindner), father (Eugene Lindner), and sister (Jackee Smith). Dan’s survivors include his 3 daughters – Sarah (Grant) Van Voorst, Amy (Scott) Deibert, and Kimberly (Brian) Booth, grandchildren Aubrey, Ellie, Leighton, Josi, Rylan, Addilyn, Jack, Rozalyn, and Natalie, and siblings JoAnne Paulson, Doug (Julie) Lindner, Nita (Greg) Madetzke, and Janet (Jim) Larson,
The prayer service will be held at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home on Wednesday, 2/4/2026, 5-8pm and the funeral will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, 2/5/2026 at 11am with a reception afterwards. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools Foundation in memory of Dan Lindner, supporting the Fostering Their Future Tuition Assistance Endowment. Gifts may be made online at http://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E347507&id=7. Please include “Dan Lindner” in the “In Memory” box when making a donation.
Dan will be missed dearly by all who knew him and he would be delighted that he got to “hang up” first.
