Daniel "Dan" Madrid, affectionately known as Papa by those closest to him, passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 73 in Santa Rosa, CA. Born in Redwood City, CA, Dan grew up in Redwood City, developing a spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship early on. A proud alumnus of Sequoia High School and a graduate from a distinguished Business School, Dan's professional life was marked by his innovative spirit, notably founding D'tails cleaning services and Positive Products, a company dedicated to creating customized toys for children with disabilities.
Beyond his entrepreneurial endeavors, Dan dedicated the last twenty years to being the primary caregiver for his beloved son, Damian, who has cerebral palsy. His hobbies showcased his creative genius and handiness, often being the go-to person for fixing anything or creating wonders from scratch, though his greatest joy was found in the laughter and love of his grandchildren.
Dan is predeceased by his parents and leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance through his wife of 40 years, Dolly Madrid, his children, Damian and Desi Madrid, and his cherished grandchildren, Mikaela, Nik, Kiran, and Amira. "He was surrounded by his loved ones when he finally passed, but his daughter is remorseful that she forgot to ask for his computer and phone passwords, but she'll accept his apology".
A service to celebrate Dan's life will be held on June 1 at 11am at Howarth Park, with further details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations for the care and support of Damian Madrid can be sent to 119 Summer Wheat Drive, Windsor CA 95492 or Venmo @desiree-madrid-1. Dan's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, ingenuity, and love.

Hearing this news saddens me beyond belief.
Knowing Dan during his teens and young adulthood was a privilege.
Rest in peace my dear friend
