Daniel F. Maratea

On August 28, 2025, of Washington Twp. Age 77. Beloved husband of the late Marlene (nee Tangi). Devoted father of Jennifer Griggs (John). Loving danpop of Ashlee and Hayden. Dear brother of Renee M. Iannace (David Bryton) and Samuel A. Maratea. loved by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as lifelong friends.

Dan was a man who cherished life and lived it fully. The beach was always a priority, and his South Philly roots and lifelong friendships remained close to his heart. A proud union man and loyal Philly sports fan, Dan valued hard work, loyalty, and tradition.

Known for his sharp wit and good humor, he could often be found swearing at a blackjack table or laughing while sharing stories from the old days. He had a deep love of family-nothing was more important to him-and he always made time for others. He was a wise listener, a good man, and a loyal friend.

The world and especially his family are forever changed by his loss, but his love and memories will live on.

Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family Tuesday 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 pm.

In honor of Daniel's life, in lieu of flowers or other acts of sympathy, we would encourage any donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
