Daniel Joseph Marshall was born on May 20, 1989, in Winner, SD Nicodemus Blue Bird and Lucy Teresa Marshall. Daniel began his journey to the Spirit World on July 5, 2025, in Sioux Falls, SD.
Daniel loved Pokémon and Harry Potter when he was a young man. He attended school at Knollwood Elementary and North Middle School in Rapid City, SD and grew up in Sioux Addition 520 Crazy Horse Street in Rapid City. Daniel also loved to draw and was an amazing artist. Daniel was excellent at beading medallions and earrings. Daniel was a top notch chef, he loved cooking the culinary arts. Daniel was very intelligent and smart, especially when it came to math and was very proud of his 20/20 vision. Daniel had a good heart and loved his family, he would give the shirt off his back if someone was in need. He enjoyed everything life had to offer, he was an amazing brother, father, son, and friend.
Daniel is survived his son, Braysen "Moses" Highrock, birth father, Nicodemus Blue Bird; parents, Stan and Pam Peneaux; sisters, Chantelle Marshall, Precious Fawn Spotted Tail, Mila Blue Bird, Jade Moran, and Jasmine Colombe; brothers, Stan Peneaux III, Jay Peneaux, Heath Peneaux, and Eric Blue Bird; grandmother, Dolly Bear Shield; aunts, Athel DuBray, Heather DuBray, Thomasine Lunderman, Candy DuBray, Cindy DuBray, Sally Peneaux, and Kim Frenier; uncles, Dallas Blue Bird, Carl Peneaux, Johnny Iron Horse, Dean Lunderman, and Robert Kills; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Teresa Marshall; daughters, Lucy Ann Marshall and Danelle Marie Marshall; nephew, Nicodemus Joseph Marshall-Long; maternal grandmother, Bonnie Lou Lunderman; grandparents, Leonard Blue Bird, Lola Leading Fighter, Sr., Stanley Peneaux, Sr. and Celeste Peneaux, and Bertha Yellow Robe; and great grandmother, Mary Wright.
Pallbearers will be Amisa "Buddy" Jones, Sr., Amisa Jones, Jr., Stanley "Boo" Peneaux, Todd Peneaux, Roland Peneaux, Dallas Blue Bird, Jr., Johnny Iron Horse, Jr., Reuben Iron Horse, Dawntez Peneaux, Gio Peneaux, Delson Long, Jr., and Armani Peneaux.

Wake Services: Two night wake services starting at 3:00 PM, MT, Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the Lions Building at the Rapid City Fairgrounds in Rapid City, SD and the second night starting at 2:00 PM, CT, Monday, July 14, 2025 at the Bishop Jones Building in Mission, SD with evening starting at 7:00 PM each night.
Funeral Services: 1:00 PM, CT, Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the Bishop Jones Building in Mission, SD.
