Age 55, formerly of Monroeville passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Beloved father of Matthew McClain; special brother of Theodore (Kathleen) McClain, William McClain, and Jonathan McClain; "sibling cousin" of Shane, Beth, and Janine Michael; nephew of Alice Nishnick and Fred Michael; cousin of Chris, Amy, & Brandon Nishnick, and Conrad Michael; former spouse of Michele Phillips. Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Constance McClain and uncle, Carl Michael. Dan was a proud Eagle Scout that graduated from Gateway in 1989. In his spare time, he was a coach for the Special Olympics, active in the Monroeville Historical Society and the Soap Box Derbies, and loved videography. Dan ushered at Heinz Field and PPG Paints Arena and loved seeing every concert and sporting event at both of these venues. Dan also worked at the Boyce Park Ski area and had a lawn care business throughout most of his life. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, December 22, 6 PM until a 7:30 PM memorial service at the GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH 4503 Old William Penn Hwy., Monroeville.
