Daniel E. "Dan" Minor

Daniel "Dan" Minor, 65, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on May 29, 2025, at 12:15
am at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. He was born November 25,
1959, to Hershall Lynn "Penn" and Daisy (Wells) Minor in Havana, Illinois. He married
Theresa Marshall in 1989 in Hiawatha, Kansas.
Dan served our grateful nation from 1977 until he was medically discharged in 1978.
During his military service at Fort Leonard Wood, he achieved the Expert Marksmanship
Medal after breaking many marksman records set at the base. He later owned and
operated Minor's Tree Service in Petersburg for over 20 years until he retired. He also
farmed and was a great welder.
Dan loved to play Cornhole (also known as bags) and was a member of Capitol City
Cornhole. He also loved to play pool and golf with his family and friends. He won many
titles and awards with his skills in trapshooting. He was a person who loved to be
outdoors and have a good time.
Dan is survived by his wife, Theresa; his children, Nicole (husband Scott) Rosewall,
Jamie (significant other Dustin) Davis, Chelsea (husband Phil) Peddycoart, Cody Minor,
and a nephew (more like a son) Todd Lee (significant other Tracy) Minor; his
grandchildren, Peyton Davis, Addy Davis, Bryson Peddycoart and Tessa Peddycoart;
and his nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rod, Pat and Bill Minor; and
two sisters, Jacque Boehm and Marsha Minor.
Cremation rites were accorded by Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, Illinois. A
celebration of life will be hosted by Dan's family at a later date.
