Daniel Joseph Morse, 52, of Bushkill, PA, died on August 27, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, after suffering his second hemorrhagic stroke. The son of Wayne Morse and Ann Morse (Heiner), Dan was born on Staten Island, NY on April 14, 1973. He spent his childhood in Yorktown Heights, NY, Albertis, PA, and Ballston Lake, NY. He graduated, with honors, from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1994, receiving a BA degree in Sociology as a presidential scholarship recipient. He received his J.D. degree from Pace University School of Law in 2000. Dan worked multiple jobs while attending college, and was deeply involved in community service, leadership, and academic organizations.
In 1998, Dan married his college sweetheart, Susan. They moved to Mahopac, NY where they raised their two wonderful children, Leighann (24) and Kevin (21). A hands-on dad, Dan loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Despite his busy work schedule, he made it to every school play, concert, and ceremony. He was a respectful, loyal and devoted husband. Everyone who met Dan seemed to like him instantly, as he put them at ease with his warmth and humor. Dan had many personal interests, including movies, music, and sports. He was an avid Yankees and Steelers fan. Dan and his family moved to the Poconos in 2022, where he enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.
An accomplished attorney, Dan began his legal career at Wilson Elser on August 8, 2005, as an associate and worked his way up to Equity Partnership. Dan was widely known by his colleagues and clients for his photographic memory, remarkable intellect, and steady, thoughtful approach to even the most complex legal challenges. Clients deeply valued his expertise, but also his humanity and profound professionalism. Dan mentored countless young attorneys with patience and generosity of his time. His reliable advice earned him deep respect within the firm and across the legal community. He never sought the spotlight, but he illuminated every room with his quiet confidence and steady presence. It is without wonder that Dan was among the top 5.3 percent of all practicing attorneys in the nation to be selected by his peers for inclusion on the list of The Best Lawyers in America.
Dan's selflessness made an impact on the community he served through his Pro Bono service devoting time to volunteering as a local state prosecutor. In recognition of his contributions, he received an official Assistant District Attorney badge; a rare and well-deserved honor that spoke to his commitment to justice and his belief in the importance of giving back to the community.
Dan was a loving, and dedicated family man, who always put others before himself. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Susan (Nicol); his daughter, Leighann; his son Kevin; his sister Shannon Morse (Andrew Grubaugh); his brother Corey Morse; his beloved nieces and nephews; his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was welcomed into heaven by his brother Scott Morse; and his parents, Wayne and Ann Morse.
