My beloved husband and best friend departed this world much too soon. He was the proud son of the late Leo and Anne Stahover Niemiec. To know Danny was an honor. He was a wonderful, thoughtful and considerate man. Dan, served in the US Navy onboard the U.S.S Nimitz which he was very proud of. I have known my love for most of my life. We were married for 36 wonderful years and shared many happy times together.
He leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate, Dawn; as well as our two dogs, Blaze and Mortimer who love and miss their Daddy immensely. He is further survived by two sisters, Anne "Bunny" VanDusen, and Jackie and her husband, Larry Shartle; one brother, Jim Kolhoff; two brothers-in-law, Pat Carson and his wife, Patty, and Jim Carson. Danny has many surviving nieces and nephews, and a very special family friend, Elizabeth Bargielski.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Malone and her husband, William; brother-in-law, William VanDusen; mother-in-law, Ruth T. Sheldon and her husband, Jim Sheldon, as well as Ruth's first husband, Donald E. Carson
Sleep well my Sweetest Danny Love eternally by "Your Sissy" and your Boys.
At the family's request, there will be no calling hours or service. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd. If you or a loved one are having suicidal thoughts, please reach out for help. Help is available. Memorial contributions may be made to NAMI of Erie County, 1611 Peach Street, Suite 218, Erie, PA 16501.
