Daniel Richard Patt, 78, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on May 28, 2025. He was born on June 2, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents, Clifford Richard Patt and Bonnie Lee (Buchwald) Patt.
He worked for Inland Steel Company from 1968-1998 then hired on with Steel Technologies for 14 years retiring in 2012. Daniel is survived by Rita his loving wife of 55 years, his 3 daughters Christine Patt (Joel Bailey) Carrie Brashear (Randy Pulley) and Rebecca Kolacki (Jeremy). Also surviving are his six grandchildren Ethan, Olivia, Shelby, Fisher, Amelia and Jack. He was a beloved brother-in-law to Teresa Micek, Mary Kay Young, Gigi Litecky, Bill Polston, Tom Polston and late brother-in-law Bob Polston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Dan and Rita enjoyed traveling and were lucky to be able to go on many trips-including Mexico, and numerous cruises and tours in Europe.
Dan was an avid and very vocal supporter of his grandsons sports events and tried to attend as many as possible. He will be sorely missed next year at Jack's soccer games.
A memorial gathering for Dan will be from 5-7pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel (325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN 46032). An additional memorial gathering will be from 10a-11a on Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church (15176 Blessed Mother Blvd, Fishers, IN 46037) with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11am. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church or St. Augustine Home Little Sisters of the Poor 2345 W. 86th St. Indianapolis, IN 46260.
