Lovingly written by his family.
Daniel M. Pierce, 70, of Monett passed away, Friday, May 23, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
Dan was born on November 16, 1954, in Lorain, OH, the son of Howard Earl and Virginia Pearl (Seigler) Pierce.
Dan was a true jack of all trades always ready with a quick, witty comment. In his younger days, he worked as a trapper up north. Later, while in Ohio, he wasn't afraid to roll up his sleeves and put in hard work restoring old homes. A true Yankee through and through.
He was also a devoted son, taking time in his life to care for his mother-just one example of his loyalty and compassion.
Dan's life took a joyful turn the day he met Charlie. She was visiting her dad, and Dan, working in the guard shack at the neighborhood lake, told her it was love at first sight. That love lasted over 25 years, during which Dan and Charlie were not only partners but best friends.
Though he might've liked you to think he was big and tough, but this man was a softy at heart. He had a special soft spot for Charlie, Tracie, Tina, Breanna, Alyssa, Rose, Joe, and Zak-and in recent years, his heart expanded even more as he became a proud gg-pa to Blaine and Kenley, who never failed to bring a smile to his face. Dan's love language was teasing. A true jokester at heart, he had a way of connecting with people through humor.
Dan leaves behind his soulmate of twenty-five years, Charlene Fields; two brothers, Dave and Phil Pierce; one sister, Becky; one step-daughter, Tina Kelley and husband Sean; five grandchildren, Breanna Kelley, Alyssa Richardson and husband Chris, Rose Kelley, Joe Kelley and Zak Kelley; as well as two great-grandchildren, Blaine and Kenley Richardson.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Virginia Pierce; one brother, Howard Pierce, Jr; and one step-daughter, Tracie Fields.
Dan's wishes were to be cremated, there are no formal services planned at this time. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
