Daniel G. Portillos, born on June 20, 1950, in Dalhart, Texas, departed this world peacefully in his sleep on May 2, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. He leaves behind a legacy defined by love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Daniel was a man of many facets, celebrated for his generous spirit, sharp wit, and caring nature. Known to family and friends as a consummate jokester, he had an extraordinary ability to light up a room with his humor, ensuring that those around him felt warmth and joy. His love for life was matched only by his passion for sports, particularly the Denver Broncos and basketball. He could often be found enjoying his favorite teams from his beloved mancave, a personal sanctuary where laughter echoed and memories were made.

He took immense pride in his family, viewing being a father as one of his proudest accomplishments. Daniel dedicated himself to his children, making sure that all their needs were met and providing unwavering support in everything they pursued. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Danette, his adored grandchildren Shanelle, Jolene (Chad), and Daniel (and his partner, Sandra), Alyssa, Ronnie, Danelle, Danaya and his cherished siblings: Barbara, Julie, Tommy, and Jerry. Among those he held dear was his brother-in-law Manuel, reflecting the strong family bond he cultivated throughout his life.

His love for singing and his treasured pick-up truck, affectionately nicknamed 'Blue,' were just a few of the things that enriched his life. Daniel’s generosity flowed through every interaction, leaving an indelible mark on all those he encountered. He was guided by compassion and kindness, traits that endeared him to those fortunate enough to call him a friend or family member.

Daniel now joins the loving embrace of those who preceded him in death, including his parents, Daniel and Georgia, his daughter Darlene, and his siblings Corrine, Christine, Connie, Vickie, Mike, and Nick. Their memories will forever be intertwined, creating a tapestry of love that continues to inspire his surviving family.

A viewing will be held on May 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, located at 901 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80226. Following the viewing, a memorial service will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate Daniel's life and legacy.

Though he has transitioned into the next chapter, Daniel G. Portillos’ spirit of joy, love for family, and light-heartedness will continue to resonate with those whose lives he touched. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
