Daniel James Prough, age 60, Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, January 5, 2026, in St. Helen, MI. Dan was born on Wednesday, January 27, 1965, in Pontiac, MI to Richard and Dorothy (Ellis) Prough. He has lived in the St. Helen area for many years, and has met many great people in the area.
Dan was well-known in his community for his helpful and fun personality. He dedicated much of his time working on cars for friends and neighbors, showing his passion for helping a friend in need.
He is survived by his two children Krystle Prough and Jeff Prough and granddaughter Nova. Along with is sisters Darlene J. Mender, Diana Prough, and Deborah Buys, as well as his brothers David Prough and Derald Prough. Dan will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Prough and Dorothy (Ellis) Smith and brother Donald.
He leaves behind many fond memories for those who knew him.
There are no formal services planned at this time. He will be cremated as he join's the loved one's who have gone before him.
